Rüttiberg is a local community or a subsection of the political community Schänis . The district in the area of the local Alps also includes the mountain « Chüemettler ».
history
Count Hunfried of Istria founded a monastery in Schänis around 820, when the lower Gasterland belonged to the diocese of Constance .
In 1356, the local church existed according to a court ruling.
