The Rėkyva Lake (lit. Rėkyvos Ežeras ) is a lake in northern Lithuania , in the municipality of Šiauliai , about 7 km south of the city. On the eastern part of the lake (bank) lies Bačiūnai and the settlement of Rėkyva, which emerged after the Second World War . The lake emerged from a raised bog . It is important in terms of environmental protection, recreation and water supply. In the 20th century, the Banko Canal and the Vilkuriai Canal were dug, which provide a connection between the Rėkyva and Lake Ginkūnai .
