Rūta Rutkelytė

Rūta Rutkelytė (born June 10, 1960 in Marijampolė ) is a Lithuanian entrepreneur and conservative politician .

Life

After graduating from secondary school in Kaunas in 1978 , she studied Lithuanian language and literature at the Faculty of Philology at Vilniaus valstybinis universitetas in 1985, and received her doctorate in philosophy in 1990 . She continued her education at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . From 1988 to 1991 she taught at the Vilniaus inžinerinis statybos institutas . In 1991 she founded the German-Lithuanian company "RRW Medical Trade" ("Vokiečių vaistinė"), which she managed until 1996. From 1996 to 2000 and from 2008 to 2012 she was a member of the Seimas .

From 1995 to 2003 Rutkelytė was a member of the Liberal Center Union , and since 2007 she has been a member of the Patriotic Union - Lithuanian Christian Democrats party .

Rūta Rutkelytė is married to Kęstutis Glaveckas for the second time . From her first marriage, she has a son and a daughter.
