R-kioski is a Finnish kiosk and convenience shop chain with 703 branches nationwide.

Products

In addition to magazines , sweets and tobacco products , convenience products as well as pre-paid SIM cards and tickets for local public transport are sold. Since in Finland the permitted opening times depend on the floor space of the shop (the smaller the floor space, the longer it can be open), R-kioski are the traditional place to shop both early and late.

history

The company, which belongs to the Reitan Convenience Group, is involved in kiosk chains in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia and Romania and achieved sales of 410.9 million euros in 2009. The first kiosks opened in 1910, but the name R-Kioski wasn't introduced until 1958. In March 2012 the Norwegian Reitangruppe (Reitan Convenience) bought the kiosk chain from the Finnish Sanoma group, making it the second largest kiosk company in Europe.
