RAL-RG 678

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The RAL-RG 678 guideline , which was drawn up by the RAL German Institute for Quality Assurance and Labeling , defines equipment standards for electrical installations . The requirements of RAL-RG 678 apply to electrical installations in apartments (in single and multi-family houses) as well as to independent business units in buildings that are not only used for residential purposes. They apply to electrical systems for high-voltage current (from meter position), building system technology, communication, information, radio, television (TV) and hazard reporting . They can be used both for planning new systems and for modernizing existing electrical installations.

Equipment values of RAL-RG 678

While DIN 18015-2 "Electrical systems in residential buildings - Part 2: Type and scope of the minimum equipment" and the new edition of DIN 18015-4 "Electrical systems in residential buildings - Part 4: Building system technology" describe the minimum equipment, RAL-RG 678 contains additional features Specifications for standard equipment and comfort equipment. The three equipment levels are marked with one, two or three stars: from the minimum equipment (one star) to the most comfortable solution (three stars).

New version and extension of RAL-RG 678

Extensive changes to DIN 18015-2: 2010-11 and the new edition of DIN 18015-4 made it necessary to adapt and revise RAL-RG 678. The current November 2010 edition of RAL-RG 678 was published in March 2011 as a result of the revision procedure applied for and carried out by the Association for Efficient Energy Use eV (HEA).

The main focus of the new version was the implementation of energy efficiency measures through a suitable electrical installation and the consideration of building system technology. For this purpose, the previous equipment values have been expanded by three additional, so-called "plus equipment values". These supplement the three basic equipment levels and describe the technical requirements for the installation of building system technology elements. Five different functional areas are assigned to the new plus equipment values: "Switching and dimming ", " Sun protection ", "Security", "Heating, ventilation, cooling" and "Switchable sockets / switched devices / energy management ". These functional areas are optionally prepared or implemented in the three plus equipment variants. At the same time, the updated RAL equipment values are also based on the increased requirements that state-of-the-art communication technology brings with it.

Table: RAL-RG 678 guideline for electrical systems in residential buildings

Equipment value quality
1 Minimum equipment according to DIN 18015-2
2 Standard equipment
3 Comfort equipment
1 plus Minimum equipment according to DIN 18015-2 and preparation for the use of building system technology according to DIN 18015-4
2 plus Standard equipment and at least one functional area in accordance with DIN 18015-4
3 plus Comfort equipment and at least two functional areas in accordance with DIN 18015-4

Binding nature of the RAL equipment values

If certain equipment levels according to RAL-RG 678 are agreed in construction performance descriptions or construction work contracts, these are binding for the electrical equipment planning and electrical installation planning and must be observed by both contractual partners. With regard to the functionality of the electrical installation, detailed coordination of the equipment planning with the future user of the electrical system, e.g. B. in relation to the furnishing and arrangement of installation elements or in relation to the use of living areas.
