RASAT is a Turkish imaging microsatellite owned by TÜBITAK- UZAY (Turkish Scientific and Technological Research Institute - Space Technology Research Center). RASAT is the first remote sensing satellite developed and manufactured by Turkish engineers in Turkey.

RASAT was launched on August 17, 2011 on board a Dnepr rocket with several other observation satellites from the Jasny Cosmodrome (Russia). The flight went smoothly.

The main purpose of RASAT is to further improve the experience and capabilities of the previous BILSAT program , as well as the infrastructure that would be required for the self-assembly, integration and testing of small satellites in Turkey.

construction

RASAT is an earth observation satellite and is powered by solar cells and batteries. The imaging device has a resolution of 7.5 m in the panchromatic and 15 m in the multispectral band.
