RED A03
The RED A03 is a V12 diesel aircraft engine from the German manufacturer RED Aircraft GmbH from Adenau . In 2014 it received approval from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for all CS / Part-23 aircraft. It is currently used in the Jak-152 trainer . The A03 is the most powerful diesel aircraft engine currently in production.
development
The A03 was developed by Wladimir Raichlin and his company Raichlin Engine Development (RED) GmbH to offer a cost-effective alternative to the existing piston aircraft engines , which are usually very old and use aviation fuel (exception: Technify , formerly Thielert from Saxony) . It costs about $ 170,000.
The A03 has a single lever FADEC .
The flight tests were carried out with a Jak-52 ( aircraft registration LY-RAD).
