The company was founded in 1994 and initially only sold products from foreign companies in Kazakhstan. In the following years, drinks began to be sold under their own name. RG Brands became PepsiCo's sales partner for Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan .

In 2004 the company acquired the Kosmis Company, part of the Swiss food and beverage manufacturer Nestlé . The following year the production of dairy products began.

Since 2007, RG Brands has also had various types of potato chips in its range.
