The Rambus Inline Memory Module ( RIMM ) is a memory module for the Rambus architecture.

A RIMM has 184 contacts on both sides and can accommodate 16 memory modules. The data width is 16 bits (18 with ECC).

Later memory modules with a 32-bit data width have 232 contacts.

After Intel discontinued support for RDRAM through its own chipsets, RIMM modules are only used in servers or supercomputers from e.g. B. Cray and HP , but also used in the PlayStation 3 . The RIMM prices are therefore very high.
