CRACK. Zeitschrift für Psychoanalyse is a German-language psychoanalytic journal with an interdisciplinary and international focus, which is based on the theory and practice established by the French psychoanalyst and philosopher Jacques Lacan . The journal was founded in 1986 by the Swiss psychoanalysts Dieter Sträuli and Peter Widmer in Zurich and until 1997 self-published (Riss Verlag) in Zurich.

From 1998 to 2013 the RISS was distributed by the Viennese publisher Turia und Kant and was subtitled Freud - Lacan . The editors were the psychoanalysts Raymond Borens, Andreas Cremonini, Christoph Keul, Christian Kläui and Michael Schmidt. No issues were published in 2011 or 2014. From 2015 to 2018 it was continued by the founder Peter Widmer at the Zurich publishing house Vissivo.

Since issue 88 (September 2018) the RISS has been published - again without subtitles - by the Hamburg publishing house Textem and is published by the psychoanalysts Karl-Josef Pazzini , Marcus Coelen and Mai Wegener and the literary and cultural scientist Judith Kasper and is based on theirs Information: " As readers, in addition to practicing psychoanalysts, we want those who are active where something is unheard of. Not only linguists, philosophers, artists, cultural workers, educators, historians, ethnologists, but everyone who lives or works at borders ." The individual issues each have several articles on a key topic, e.g. B. Compulsion (# 36/1996), remembering and forgetting (# 51/2001), differentiating: Lacan / Freud (# 85/2017). In addition, each issue contains reviews of current publications.

The RISS was published three times from 1986 to 2010, and twice a year since 2012. It is sometimes accompanied by special editions called RISS + or RISS material volumes . The following psychoanalysts, cultural theorists and philosophers are represented on the journal's international advisory board: Monique David-Ménard, Mladen Dolar, Maire Jaanus, Hans Saettele, Antonello Sciacchitano, Samuel Weber and Slavoj Žižek .
