RKWard is a graphical user interface (GUI) for R , a free program package with a strong focus on statistical functions. RKWard tries to combine the strengths of R with a user-friendly interface, as is the case with commercial statistical programs such as B. is common at SPSS . Although originally developed for the KDE user interface under GNU / Linux , RKWard can also be used under Windows , macOS and other user interfaces such as Gnome .
In addition to a console in which the R syntax can be executed directly, RKWard contains a number of menu functions. This includes a file browser to facilitate data management, a variable view, a table window for the loaded data, etc. In addition, it offers a code editor that supports the development of your own R scripts through syntax highlighting , code folding and auto-completion .
Some standard applications of the descriptive, exploratory and analytical statistics of R can be executed directly via the main menu. Likewise, graphics and outputs can be generated, adjusted and displayed using separate windows and menus. RKWard also offers a package manager from which all available packages of the R developer community can be downloaded, installed and configured. The software can be expanded with additional dialogs using plugins. An RKWard plug-in consists of simple XML and ECMAScript / JavaScript files. From version 0.5.7 it is possible to install such plugins in the form of R packages. With the R package rkwarddev, new graphical dialogs for RKWard can be generated by executing an R script.
