The cycling and motorsport association "Frisch auf" Düsseldorf eV was founded in 1898 and is a member of the cycling association Rad- und Kraftfahrerbund Solidarität (RKB). This makes it one of the oldest sports clubs in Düsseldorf . It is the only club in town to practice artificial cycling and the sport of cycling . Unicycling has also been part of the club's offering since the 1990s .
history
Developed from the workers' sports movements, the main association RKB reached its heyday in 1896 before the Second World War and, as the world's largest cycling association, had a membership of 450,000. In the time of National Socialism , the association and thus also the RMSV “Frisch auf” found it very difficult to survive. Ultimately, the sports association and the RMSV were banned and only continued to exist underground. After 1945 the members formed again and resumed club life. In January 2008, honorary chairman Werner Schmitt was awarded the Medal of Merit of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany .

Unicycle marathon
For several years now, the RMSV "Frisch auf" has been holding a German unicycle marathon championship as part of the supporting program of the Metro Group Marathon in Düsseldorf . In this unicycling marathon, the only one in the world, unicyclists are officially rated. They ride the same route as the handbikers .
