The RennRodelClub Altenberg e. V. (short: RRC Altenberg ) is a toboggan club from Altenberg . In addition to Oberwiesenthal, the club is currently one of the two state luge centers in Saxony .
history
The RennRodelClub Altenberg was founded on July 6th, 2015 and emerged from the outsourced tobogganing department of SSV Altenberg , on whose history and successes the RRC also refers. The aim was to achieve a more targeted promotion of the sport of luge at the Altenberg location by founding the single-line club. The first chairman was Martin Henneberg, who was replaced in 2018 by the current chairman Jürgen Tiebel, father of the former luge rider Jessica Tiebel . In 2017, the club was the host of the German Luge Championships . A year later, the club and the world association FIL hosted the Junior World Championship.
