Renaissance Sportive de Berkane ( Arabic النهضة الرياضية البركانية, DMG an-Nahḍa ar-riyāḍiyya al-Barkāniyya ), abbreviated RS Berkane , is a Moroccan sports club based in Berkane . The club's soccer team currently plays in the botola of the highest Moroccan division. The club took 2nd place in the Botola 2 in the 2011/12 season , which led to promotion to the first division. In 2018 the club won the cup in Morocco and achieved its greatest success to date.

history

The club was founded in 1938 under the name Association Sportive de Berkane. In 1953 the club was called Union Sportive Musulmane de Berkane. In 1966 it was renamed Union Sportive de Berkane and in the same year a new club was founded under the name Chabab Riadhi de Berkane.

In 1971 both teams merged to form Renaissance Sportive de Berkane (Nahdat Berkane). This merger was advantageous for the club and he entered the first division in 1977/1978 and was runner-up in 1982/83.

The club reached the final of the CAF Confederation Cup 2018/19 and lost it on penalties against al Zamalek SC from Egypt . The year before that, the club won the cup in Morocco.
