RTL 2 (originally Maxximum ) is a French-speaking private radio station owned 100% by the RTL Group . The station began broadcasting on October 23, 1989 under the name Maxximum . On January 6, 1992, it was renamed the M40 . Three years later, on January 18, 1995, the name was changed to RTL 1 . Since March 1995 the station has been called RTL 2 .
