RWTÜV
The RWTÜV e. V. is a technical monitoring association based in Essen . Today, a group of companies with sales of over € 200 million is bundled under the name RWTÜV, which operates in the insurance service, telecommunications and energy & environment business areas.
The Rheinisch-Westfälische Technical Monitoring Association e. V. goes back to the boiler inspection association in Siegen and other steam boiler monitoring associations in the 19th century. The Technical Monitoring Association Essen was created through the merger in 1939 . V. In 1969 the association was given its current name. More than 2,000 companies from industry and business are members. The operational business of RWTÜV e. V. was transferred to RWTÜV AG - today RWTÜV GmbH - in 1993.
In 2004, RWTÜV e. V. with the technical inspection association TÜV Nord e. V., Hamburg and the TÜV Hannover / Saxony-Anhalt e. V. TÜV Nord GmbH (since 2005: TÜV NORD AG). With 36.1%, RWTÜV GmbH is one of the three shareholders of TÜV Nord AG.
Around 1,700 employees in the group now work in the telecommunications, insurance service, and environment and energy sectors.
With CETECOM , RWTÜV maintains an internationally operating subsidiary for testing services.
