The Grégoire-Besson GmbH is a manufacturer of agricultural machinery and equipment, based in Lower Saxony Bad Essen . The focus of economic activities is the further and new development of tillage equipment and seed drills of the Rabe brand .

history

Rabe Fieldbird compact disc harrow

The company was founded in 1889 by JF Klausing and mainly manufactured plows , but also other implements for agricultural tillage. In 1938, today's main factory in the Bad Essen district of Linne was built as "Rabewerk" by Heinrich Klausing, which was followed in 1976 by the construction of a branch in France. The production of seed drills began in 1989 and the former Saxonia factory in Bernburg was acquired in 1992.

After difficult economic times as a result of a generation conflict, a new beginning was dared in 2001 under the leadership of Mr. von Allwörden and Rabe Agrarsysteme GmbH & Co. KG was founded. In April 2006 there was another change of ownership. Under the leadership of Ms. Stephanie Egerland-Rau, her family took over the company, which now traded under the name Rabe Agri GmbH. After four years of losses (operationally -11.5 million euros; balance sheet -16.8 million euros), on March 21, 2011, Rabe Agri GmbH, under the sole managing director Ms. Egerland-Rau, filed for insolvency at the competent local court in Osnabrück . On July 1, 2011, the bankruptcy proceedings were opened.

In September 2011, Rabe Agri was taken over by Grégoire-Besson and new management was appointed. Rabe Agri was renamed Grégoire-Besson GmbH.

In July 2019 it became known that the management of Grégoire Besson GmbH had filed for insolvency under self-administration. The aim is to maintain the business premises and jobs in Bad Essen.

The ZWL Holding GmbH , a German-Chinese investment group based in Lienen , acquired the factory and name rights in May 2020 and plans to start production in June under the name Raven to start again.
