Rachelle van Zanten

Rachelle van Zanten (* 1976 ) is a Canadian musician , singer , slide guitarist and pianist .

Life

She grew up in northern British Columbia . In the fall of 1995, she went to Edmonton , Alberta . After studying for a year, she founded the rock band Painting Daisies with Daisy Blue Groff, Carolyn Fortowsky and Kim Gryba . With the band she released several albums. In 2006 her first solo album Back to Francois was released .

In 2008 Rachelle Van Zanten went on tour in Europe, Asia and Canada. She was accompanied by her band, consisting of Hamish Tesco on bass and Graham Roby on drums.

In addition, she is co-initiator and sponsor of the annual Canadian music camp for young musicians "Rocker Girl Camp".
