Radio Television Afghanistan

Radio Television Afghanistan ( RTA ; Persian رادیو تلویزیون ملی افغانستان) is the state broadcasting company of Afghanistan . The society consists of Radio Afghanistan for radio, Television Afghanistan for television, the orchestra Radio Television Afghanistan Musicians and a theater Radio Afghanistan Theater . In addition to the headquarters in the capital Kabul, there are regional institutions. There are currently around 3,000 employees working for the station.

history

The Taliban regime shut down television after it came to power. After the fall of the Taliban at the end of 2001, it was reintroduced and the distribution of music on the radio was allowed again.

Broadcasting is still taking place to a limited extent. Radio Afghanistan broadcasts 18 hours a day, with seven hours on medium and short wave reaching around 50 percent of the country. The remaining eleven hours of programming are broadcast regionally in Kabul via VHF.

Deutsche Welle delivers a daily twelve-minute news program in Persian and Pashto for television . This program, financed by the Foreign Office , is to be discontinued in 2006. Deutsche Welle also helps with the training of journalists as part of the Deutsche Welle Academy .

The radio program Radio Afghanistan Mazar-e Sharif is produced for the Mazar-e-Sharif region at the Balch location . Around four to six hours of program are created every day. There is also a program in Uzbek there . A television program, Television Afghanistan Mazar-e Sharif, is also produced there.
