Radio Kö was a private local radio from Augsburg .

history

The original radio station, Radio Kö 87.9 , ceased broadcasting in 2002. There is only a connection to Radio Kö, which was operated by the rt1.media group , via the rights that the new owners had secured in 2006 to use the station name they introduced for their cable programs. Before that, hitradio.rt1 had a separate cable program under its own station name.

On October 2nd, 2006, Radio Kö went back on the air and replaced the previous "Oldie Radio RT.2". The organizer was the rt1.media group , a subsidiary of the media group Pressruck .

In its meeting on July 29, 2010, the media council of the Bavarian State Center for New Media (BLM) approved the change of the format from “Radio Kö” to “RT1 in the Mix” in the local DAB coverage area Augsburg.

Radio Kö broadcasted 24 hours a day by cable on the frequency 96.00 and via DAB in the Augsburg area. The DAB license ran until April 30, 2011. After that, the program was replaced by rt.1 in the mix and since then has only been heard as a live stream on the Internet.

In the meantime (December 2018) the live stream fell silent and the website was switched off.
