Program principles

The events in the Chemnitz region are the main focus of the program; supraregional topics are not excluded. The reporting should be aimed at people and groups or should include topics that are not given much consideration in other and more heavily frequented media. Furthermore, the program should reflect the opinions of various social strata in the distribution area. The designers of the program want to exclude racist, sexist, social or other forms of discrimination as well as any kind of glorification of violence. It is broadcast from Monday to Friday between 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday between 12:00 p.m. and 12:00 p.m.

distribution

The program is broadcast in Chemnitz via FM frequency 102.7 MHz as well as in the cable network of Primacom on frequency 98.25 MHz and in the cable network of RFC on 103.7 MHz. In addition, the program is fed into the network of the provider GAG Burgstädt at a frequency of 95.30 MHz. This provider in the Chemnitz area includes the towns of Burgstädt, Lunzenau, Berthelsdorf, Schlaisdorf, Hohenkirchen, Elsdorf, Markersdorf, Claußnitz, Röllingshain, Taura, Herrenhaide, Kühnhaide, Hartmannsdorf, Mühlau, Burkersdorf, Göppersdorf, Heiersdorf and Mohsdorf.

Since December 24, 2007, the program has also been broadcast via live internet stream parallel to the FM or cable broadcast times.

partnership

Radio T is a partner of “Radio UNiCC”, a student radio at the TU Chemnitz, which first went on the air in 2002 and only in 2004 via VHF. This is mainly an internet radio , but the FM broadcast is one hour each day.

Surname

The meaning of the "T" in the name has not been clarified beyond doubt. On the one hand, it could refer to the early beginnings of radio, when the programs were still played via amplifiers and loudspeakers at public events (i.e. not via VHF); accordingly the "T" would stand for dry radio.

On the other hand, the "T" on the code letter for the Karl-Marx-Stadt district could refer to license plates in the GDR.
