Radka Stoyanova
Radka Jordanowa Stojanowa ( Bulgarian Радка Йорданова Стоянова ; born July 7, 1964 in Varna ) is a former Bulgarian rower who won an Olympic silver medal in a two-man in 1988 without a helmsman .
At the Junior World Championships in 1980, Stojanowa finished fourth with the four with helmsman and sixth with the eighth . Three years later, the 1.85 m tall Stojanowa rowed at the 1983 World Championships with the controlled foursome to sixth place. Again three years later, she finished fifth in the four with helmsman at the 1986 World Championships . At the World Championships in 1987 , she reached sixth place with the Bulgarian eighth.
Together with Lalka Berberowa , who was also there in 1986 in a four with a helmsman, Stojanowa entered the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul in a two with no helmsman. In the second heat, the Bulgarians crossed the finish line six seconds behind the Romanians Rodica Arba and Olga Homeghi in second place. In the hope race, the Bulgarians won ahead of the US boat and thus made it to the final. The two Romanians won the final with over three and a half seconds ahead of the Bulgarians, another three and a half seconds behind the boat from New Zealand won the bronze medal.
