Radoslav (Raszien)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Radoslav ( Serbian - Cyrillic Радослав ; Middle Greek Ροδόσθλαβος ) was a Serbian prince of Rascia from around 814 to around 822.

Life

Radoslav was mentioned in a Greek chronicle as Prince of Raszien. He succeeded his father Višeslav , the first Serbian prince known by name. His reign was not mentioned. It was perhaps from around 800/814 to around 822. In that year Prince Ljudevit fled from Lower Pannonia to the Serbs. It is not clear whether Radoslav still ruled at the time. At that time, the rulership extended to large parts of Dalmatia .

There are no other reports about his person. He was succeeded by his son Prosigoj .
