The Dorperhof cycling track is located in the North Rhine-Westphalian city ​​of Solingen and there in the Dorperhof residential area .

The cycling track is 384 meters long, made of concrete and open. It was built from 1947 to 1948 by the members of the RC Schwalbe 03 association , initially as a cinder track. The initiator was the entrepreneur and association chairman August Strathmann . Around 12,000 spectators came to the inauguration event on July 13, 1948. Today's cement track was opened in 1950, designed by the renowned Münster Radrennbahn architect Clemens Schürmann . In the following years, much-noticed international battles were held on the new track. In 1988, 1993 and 1996 there were German track championships for the youngsters. Standing races are held annually; In addition, the railway is the service base of the State Sports Association of North Rhine-Westphalia .

The cycling track is in dire need of renovation and can therefore only be used until around 2017. The RC Schwalbe 03 is therefore planning to build a new covered velodrome .
