Rafał Mazur

Rafał Mazur (born June 17, 1971 in Cracow ) is a Polish bass guitarist.

Mazur took cello lessons in his youth before switching to bass guitar in the late 1980s. Since 2000 he has been playing an acoustic bass guitar that Jerzy Wysocki built according to his specifications. He is the founder of the ImproArt Studio for improvisational music and the organizer of the Laboratory of Intiution . As a jazz and improvisation musician, he performed in Poland and all over Europe, China, South Korea and Israel.

His musical partners included Lisa Ullén , Frederic Blondy , Charlotta Hug , Raymond Strid , Keir Neuringer , Zsolt Sores , Francois Carrier , Michael Lambert , Agustí Fernández and Attila Dóra . He works regularly with the Trio Ensemble 56 , the Mazur / Neuringer Duo and the Majewski / Kaluza / Mazur / Suchar Quartet . His discography includes more than 20 albums.
