Artur Majewski

Artur Majewski (* 1978 in Wrocław ) is a Polish jazz musician ( trumpet , electronics).

Live and act

Majewski first received classical piano lessons; at the age of 10 he switched to the trumpet. In 2002 he graduated from the Katowice Music Academy, where he studied with Piotr Wojtasik .

Majewski played in the Robotobibok jazz ensemble from 2000 with Marcin Ożóg , Maciej Bączyk and Adam Pindur . With the drummer Kuba Suchar he forms the duo Mikrokolektyw . Together they played with Chicago musicians such as Fred Anderson , Nicole Mitchell and Rob Mazurek ; In 2007 they performed with the Exploding Star Orchestra in Warsaw. The duo recorded the album Revisit for Delmark Records in 2010 , the first release by a European band on the Chicago label. Raymond Salvatore Harmon produced the film Dew Point in 2010 through Mikrokolektyw at the Wytwórnia Filmów Fabularnych studios in Wroclaw . In 2014 the duo recorded an album with Noël Akchoté . In 2010 Majewski formed the improvisation ensemble Foton Quartet with Gerard Lebik , with which the album Zomo Hall was recorded. In 2016 Majewski's first solo album, Unimaginable Game, was released . He can also be heard on an album by Lotte Anker .
