Rafael Herrera

Rafael Herrera (* 7. January 1945 in Jalisco , Mexico ) is a Mexican boxer in the bantamweight .

Professional career

In 1963 he began his professional career successfully. On March 19, 1972, he boxed against Rubén Olivares for the world title of the associations WBA and WBC and won by classic knockout in round 8. However, he lost this belt in his first title defense in July of the same year again to Enrique Pinder on points.

On April 14, 1973 he was able to win the WBC World Championship belt for the second time when he defeated Rodolfo Martínez by technical knockout. He lost this title after successfully defending his title against Romeo Anaya in December of the following year in a rematch to Martínez by tko in the 4th round.
