Rafael J. Tello

Rafael J. Tello (born September 5, 1872 in Mexico City , † December 20, 1961 there ) was a Mexican composer.

Tello studied at the Conservatory of Mexico with Ricardo Castro Herrera and has performed as a concert pianist since 1888. From 1902 he taught piano, composition and music education at the conservatory. In 1917 he founded the Free Conservatory , which he led from then on. In addition to four operas, he composed two symphonies, chamber music works, piano pieces, four masses, motets and songs.
