Rafael Lorente Escudero
Rafael Lorente Escudero (born February 3, 1907 in Montevideo , Uruguay ; † March 22, 1992 ibid) was a Uruguayan architect .
Lorente Escudero studied from 1926 at the Faculty of Architecture (Facultad de Arquitectura) of the Universidad de la República . In 1934 he successfully completed his studies with the title of architect.
Together with his son, the architect and sculptor Rafael Lorente Mourelle (* 1940) and Juan J. Lussich , he was responsible for the construction of the Asociación de Empleados Bancarios del Uruguay in Montevideo, which opened in 1971 .
The central administrative headquarters of ANCAP in Avenida Libertador as well as a gas station built by this company in 1944 in Barrio Carrasco in Montevideo and the one on Avenida Gorlero in Punta del Este can also be traced back to him. The Cine Plaza y Central , created in 1947, is also one of his projects. In addition, the Cantegril Country Club in Punta del Este is his work.
