Rafael de Penagos (actor)

Rafael de Penagos (* 1924 in Madrid ; † February 25, 2010 ibid) was a Spanish actor , poet and voice actor .

Life

De Penagos, the son of the draftsman Rafael de Penagos Zalabardo , worked as an actor and voice actor in Barcelona with a contract with Metro Goldwyn Mayer in the early 1940s . He then stayed in Santiago de Chile and Buenos Aires , where he presented his first volume of poetry - "In dictatorial Spain there is too little to describe", he justified his departure. In 1954, however, he returned to his native country and now mixed his activities as an actor with those of poetry lectures and university teaching assignments. In 1964 he was awarded the Spanish National Prize for Literature for his work Como pasa el viento .

As a voice actor he had a talent for comedy and was, among many other works, the Spanish voice of Stan Laurel ; later he dubbed Jeremy Brett in the television series about Sherlock Holmes.
