Raffaele De Caro (born March 29, 1883 in Benevento , today Benevento Province , Campania , † May 4, 1961 in Turin ) was an Italian politician of the Partito Liberale Italiano (PLI), who was a member of the Constituent Assembly ( Assemblea Costituente ) and was a member of the Chamber of Deputies ( Camera dei deputati ) from 1948 until his death in 1961 . In addition, between 1954 and 1957 he held the office of minister without portfolio for relations with parliament.

Life

After attending school, De Caro studied law and then practiced as a lawyer .

After the end of the Second World War he was elected in the first elections on June 2, 1946 by the United National Electoral College (Collegio Unico Nazionale) as a member of the Constituent Assembly (Assemblea Costituente) , of which he was a member until January 31, 1948. After initially representing the Unione Democratica Nazionale (UDN), he joined the Partito Liberale Italiano (PLI) on January 17, 1947.

In the elections of April 18, 1948 , Tessitori was elected for the first time as a member of the Chamber of Deputies (Camera dei deputati) and represented the constituency of Benevento until his death on May 4, 1961 . Shortly after the election, he became chairman of the PLI faction in the Chamber of Deputies on May 10, 1948, and also held this position until his death on May 4, 1961. In addition, was a member of various standing committees and special committees and between October 1953 and February 1954 vice-chairman of the election committee.

On February 10, 1954, De Caro was appointed by Prime Minister Mario Scelba as Minister without Portfolio for Relations with Parliament (Ministro senza Portofoglio per i Rapporti con il Parlamento) in his cabinet and held this office in the subsequent first cabinet Segni until 19. May 1957.
