The Leuna refinery power plant is located near Leuna ( Saalekreis ) on the refinery site.
It supplies the Leuna-Werke with energy, including electricity, process steam, fully demineralized water (deionized water) and compressed air. The power plant is fired with refinery residues. The installed capacity is 158 megawatts and the annual usage time is more than 8,000 hours. The operator of the power plant is Steag .
