Rahel (unit)

The Rahel , also Rachel, was a Viennese square measure and found its special application in the measurement of vineyards and vineyards .

The measure named as Little or Ordinary Rachel was

  • 1 Rachel / Rachel = 1 eighth = 400 square fathoms = 14.38936 ares

The great Rachel was 600 square fathoms, or 21.58404 ares

  • 2 Rahel = ¼ vineyard = ½ yoke = 12 pounds

The pound here meant 66 ⅔ square fathoms or 1/24 yoke, which corresponded to 2.398227 ares.

  • Rachel had six pounds and nine pounds
