At the beginning of her career, Jokinen initially experimented with paper fibers. She then developed her own style by combining flax fibers and color pigments . These materials are processed into image and sculpture-like objects using sewing technology. The works created in this way create a light, sometimes fragile impression, but at the same time are very resistant.

The focus of the representation is often a human figure, which is placed in an associative context by emphasizing elements such as nerve and blood vessels or contrasting surfaces. As a whole, an inviting representation of physical and emotional states is created. The works of art are thus independent aesthetic objects, which, however, also represent a reflection on the state of the individual.
