Raimundas Jurka

Raimundas Jurka (born March 18, 1978 in the Lithuanian SSR ) is a Lithuanian criminal procedural lawyer, professor of criminal procedural law at the Mykolas-Romer University .

Life

In 2000 Jurka completed his bachelor's degree and from 2000 to 2002 his master's degree in law at the Lietuvos policijos akademija . On May 16, 2008 he did his doctorate at the Mykolo Romerio universitetas on witness protection on the subject of "The protection of the procedural interests of the witness in criminal proceedings: Problems and perspectives"

From 2001 to 2002 he taught at the Department of Law at the Faculty of Economics and Technologies of Utenos Kolegija and was head of the department. Since September 2002 he has been teaching at the Chair of Criminal Procedure at Lietuvos teisės universitetas (now Mykolo Romerio universitetas). From 2002 to 2004 he was a specialist in the department of criminology and from 2004 to 2005 head of the department of international relations at the Institute of Law (Lithuania) , from 2005 to 2006 assistant judge at Lietuvos apeliacinis teismas , since November 2006 director of the criminal justice department at Ministry of Justice of Lithuania .

Since 2012 he has been Professor and Head of the Chair of Criminal Procedure in the Law Faculty at the MRU.

He speaks Russian and English.
