The Rainbow Bridge ( Japanese レ イ ン ボ ー ブ リ ッ ジ , Reinbō Burijji ) is a suspension bridge over the port of Tokyo . It is located in the northern part of Tokyo Bay and connects Shibaura Wharf with Odaiba in the Minato district .

The bridge was completed in 1993 and has a total length of 798 m or a length of 570 m between the two piers. Traffic is carried on two levels. During the day it is also possible to cross the bridge on foot. On the upper level there is an expressway over the bridge, on the lower level there is the fully automatic Yurikamome train line, a normal road and the footpath.

The supporting pillars of the bridge are white to harmonize with the skyline of central Tokyo when viewed from Odaiba . At night, the bridge is illuminated by means of red, white and green lamps that have collected energy from solar cells during the day.

There is no additional toll for the bridge.
