Rainer Silkenbeumer

Rainer Silkenbeumer (born June 2, 1942 in Schröttersburg , now Poland ) is a German politician (SPD). From 1978 to 1986 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament.

After attending primary and secondary school in Hanover, Silkenbeumer did a commercial apprenticeship and was then employed by the bank for community services . From 1963 to 1966 he was a lecturer in youth care and political education at the Haus Naumburg youth education center. In 1965 he received a scholarship to study youth and social work in Cleveland and San Francisco. After his return in 1966 he studied at the Lower Saxony University of Education until 1969. After completing his studies, he was a secondary school teacher in Hanover for two years. From 1971 to 1978 Silkenbeumer was a research assistant and academic advisor in the Faculty of Education 1 at the University of Hanover . From 1975 to 1979 headed the research project "Social and Political Learning in Primary Schools". Later he worked for the Lower Saxony State Center for Political Education. He has been a member of the SPD since 1970. From 1981 he was chairman of the SPD Langenhagen. From 1974 to 1981 he was a member of the city council of Langenhagen and in 1978 he entered the ninth electoral term of the Lower Saxony state parliament, to which he also belonged in the tenth electoral term. On June 20, 1986, he resigned from the state parliament.
