Rainer Thomasius

Rainer Thomasius (* 1957 ) is a German child and youth psychiatrist and university professor.

Life

After obtaining his doctorate (solvent abuse in children and adolescents. State of research and practical help) in 1988 to become a Dr. med. and his habilitation in 1994 in Hamburg (family diagnostics for drug addiction. A cross-sectional study on the detailed analysis of families with opiate-dependent young adults) he was medical director of the personality disorders and stress disorders department at the Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf from 1999 to 2006 . Since 2006 he has been the medical director of the German Center for Addiction Issues in Children and Adolescents (DZSKJ) at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf.
