Rainer Willfeld

Rainer Willfeld (born February 1, 1945 ) is a German football coach .

From 1986 to 1991, Willfeld was technical director and trainer for the U-20 national team of Togo, after which he was responsible for the various female national teams as a trainer in Vietnam between 1994 and 2004, including the Vietnamese women’s national team during qualification for the 2003 World Cup. Since 2007 he has been the coach of the U-17 and U-20 national teams of Burkina Faso. In 2009, he led the country's U-17 selection to the round of 16 at the U-17 World Cup in Nigeria . As coach of Burundi, he led this team to an African Championship for the first time in 2019. Willfeld was also sent to various projects abroad, for example as an advisor to the Mauritius Association or to a project with street children in Burkina Faso.

Willfeld was employed as a research assistant at the University of Tübingen .
