Svislach district
The Svislach District ( Belarusian Свіслацкі раён Swislazki rayon , Russian Свислочский район Swislotschski rayon ) is an administrative unit in the south of Grodno Region in Belarus with the administrative center in the town Svislach River . The Rajon has an area of 1,449.53 km², includes 152 localities and is divided into six Selsawets and one Passavet .
geography
The Svislach district is located in the south of the Hrodsenskaja Woblasz. In the west it borders on Poland and in the south and southeast on the Breszkaja Woblasz . The neighboring ravines in the Hrodna Region are Berastovitsa in the north and Waukawysk in the northeast .
history
Svislach Raion was formed on January 15, 1940.
