Ralf Weißleder
Ralf Weißleder (* 1962 in Hamburg ) is a German contemporary artist .
life and work
Weißleder studied art history and ethnology at the University of Hamburg from 1981 to 1986 and visual communication and film at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg from 1982 to 1992 . In addition to his own photographic work, Ralf Weißleder works with his own archive of images collected over the years. Based on iconographic investigations of this material, u. a. from popular photography, initially works a. a. on expressive gestures or body parts of pin-ups, in later years thematic picture series or systems of order.
From 2002, Weißleder had a teaching position for free art (class for media art) at the Muthesius University in Kiel. Ralf Weißleder lives and works in Hamburg.
