Ralph Mark Rosen

Ralph Mark Rosen (born March 7, 1956 ) is an American classical philologist .

Life

He obtained a BA in Greek and Latin studies from Swarthmore College in 1977 , an MA in Classical Philology from Harvard University in 1979 and a Ph.D. in classical philology. He then taught from 1983 to 1988 as an assistant professor at the University of Pennsylvania , there from 1989 to 2000 as an associate professor and since 2000 as a professor .

His research interests are Greek literature and intellectual history, ancient comic and satirical literature, and ancient medicine ( Hippocrates of Kos and Galenos ).
