Ralph Schraivogel (born June 4, 1960 in Lucerne ) is a Swiss graphic designer and lecturer.

life and career

Ralph Schraivogel studied at the Zurich School of Design from 1977 to 1982 and then opened his own studio in Zurich. From 1983 to 2006 he shaped the image of the film podium in the city of Zurich. In addition to working for numerous Swiss cultural institutions, he has been regularly designing posters for the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich since 1984. The posters for the Festival of African Film Cinemafrica 1989–2006 received special attention. Works by Ralph Schraivogel are represented in international collections, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. He is a Jan Lenica and Yusaku Kamekura Prize winner and won the Swiss Grand Prix Design of the Federal Office of Culture in 2016. From 1992 to 2001 Ralph Schraivogel taught at the Zurich University of Art and Design and was visiting professor at the Berlin University of the Arts in 2000/01. He has been teaching at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences since 2003. In 1995 Ralph Schraivogel was accepted into the Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI).
