Ramón Agapito Catalá y Rives (born August 18, 1866 in Havana , † November 10, 1941 ibid) was a Cuban writer and newspaper publisher.

Life

Ramón Agapito Catalá y Rives attended the Colegio Zapata of the Sociedad Económica. In 1880 he founded the magazine La Infancia with Francisco Varona Murias . He was then enrolled in the law course . From 1909 was involved as a publisher in the magazine El Fígaro de Habana (1885-1933). He wrote for La Lucha , Heraldo de Cuba and the Diario de la Marina . His works "Historia de Cuba" and "Historia de la Invasión" remained unpublished. On April 28, 1913, he received exequatur as honorary consul for El Salvador in Havana. In 1934 he was general secretary of the Academía Nacional de Artes y Letras.
