Ramón González (athlete)

Ramón González (born August 24, 1966 ) is a former Cuban javelin thrower .

At the Pan American Games in 1983 in Caracas and at the Track and Central American and Caribbean Championships in 1985 he won silver each. In 1986 he won the Central American and Caribbean Games and the Ibero-American Championships.

Another silver medal at the Pan American Games in 1987 in Indianapolis was followed by the defense of the title at the Ibero-American Championships in 1988. In 1989 he won the Central American and Caribbean Championships and was fifth at the World Cup in Athletics in Barcelona .

In 1990 he defended his title at the Central American and Caribbean Games. In 1991 he won the Pan American Games in Havana and was eliminated from the qualification at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo .

In 1991 he became the Ibero-American champion for the third time, and in 1995 he took bronze at the Central American and Caribbean Championships.
