The Rampur Hound is a non- FCI- recognized dog breed from India.
Origin and history
The Rampur Hound is a rare smooth-haired greyhound from northern India, from the Rampur area between Delhi and Bareli .
The ruler of Rampur Ahmed Ali Khan Bahadur bred this breed with the help of proven foreign breeds such as Tazi , Afghans and English greyhounds , with the aim of hunting wild boars . The result is said to have far exceeded expectations. He had created an intelligent dog that would cunningly chase the boar even when it was badly injured.
Essence
Actually also a "one-person dog", he is gentle, affectionate and sensitive within the family, as is the characteristic of almost all greyhounds: Hardly noticeable in the house, but outside always with a view of possible prey and with a high urge to move .
description
