Randy Rocket

Randy Rocket (* before 2001) is a German photographer and filmmaker who lives in Hamburg. He also works as a cameraman and director for commercials and music videos. His real name is unknown.

Life

He grew up in southern Germany and moved to Hamburg in 2001. During his studies in experimental media at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts , he worked as a freelance art director for various international agencies and in 2005 became a permanent member of the Hamburg media production company nonstoprevolution media.

Rocket has been working as a freelance photographer since 2006. As an autodidact, he began his work with photographing street scenes, in order to focus more on editorial topics from 2009 onwards . In his pictures one can find influences from contemporary photographers like David LaChapelle or Terry Richardson .

Parallel to his commercial commissions, he produces free film works at irregular intervals, mostly in collaboration with other artists. In May 2011, in collaboration with the electronic musician Heimkind, the multi-award-winning art video "Luminar" was created. At the end of 2012, he made a project-related film with the graffiti artist Heiko Zahlmann. a. as part of the MoMa PopRally: Abstract Currents . In 2016 "a calligraphic situation pt.1" was created together with the graffiti artist Darco FBI, which was continued in 2017 with "a calligraphic situation pt.2".
