Rano Karno (born October 8, 1960 in Jakarta ) is an Indonesian actor and politician . His father was the actor Soekarno M. Noer .

From 1997 to 2002 he was a member of the People's Consultative Assembly . On June 4, 1998, he was appointed UNICEF ambassador for one year . In the regional elections of 2008 he was in the administrative district of Tangerang elected deputy regent. Since January 11, 2012, he has been Deputy Governor of Banten Province .
