Raphael Bachi

Raphael Bachi (* 1717 in Turin ; † 1767 ) was a miniature painter in Paris . He traded in tobacco products and soon began, with great success, to decorate tobacco boxes with portraits, which were so popular that even the French court hired him to make such boxes for foreign nobles and other high-ranking personalities.
