Ras Dumisani

Alexius "Ras" Dumisani (born November 10, 1973 in Umlazi ) is a South African reggae singer from Durban . He currently lives in Paris , where he has a growing fan base. Dumisani is descended from the Zulu royal family. He recorded his first album Zululand Reggae in 1992.

Dumisani attracted international attention with his appearance before the test match of the South African rugby union national team against France in November 2009. Before the start of the game, he sang the South African anthem Nkosi Sikelel 'in Africa . However, his performance was so bad that the audience started laughing. Since rugby has a similar status in South Africa as football in Germany , many South Africans were shocked. The incident was widely discussed in the South African media. Even politicians commented on Dumisani's appearance. Duminsani himself was convinced of the quality of his performance and put the blame on the poor equipment.
